Hello, i bought an expired domain with a lot of backlinks built to its subdomain xxx.expred.com. How do I utilize this making sure I pass these link juice to the root domain.

A 301 Redirect is enough.
If it was a blog, you may create relevant articles and redirect for maximum link juice.
