I see, i wouldnt write off GPT just yet though, you can go to openai website and try out GPT-3 which is now accessible and has the format you are looking for.
There is a website called dungeonAI where it uses GPT-2 (GPT-3 if you pay) where you can create your own adventure simply by suggesting or leading the context.

For Example the highlight is what i started with, and it kept generating its own conversation (including mine). But you can edit and regenerate to direct it your way.
If the information isnt factual enough (hence all the weird shit about a goat) you can go into the settings and turn down the temperature and accuracy. Its good fun.
