It depends on the topic, if the keyword you write about is difficult, and the quality of the post (the most obvious factor). Also, it depends if you want to go to the "AdSense and ads networks" route or if you want to go to affiliate marketing road. So, it's quite difficult to say how much you'll take actually.

That really depends on the topic, and what monetization you're looking to utilize. There's a lot of options to consider, the question is too vague.

to reach top you need to use all low-frequency keys in EVERY post. 1 post - 1 key or keys group. Don't wish money. They will come....

Assuming u starting with a brand new domain,0 backlinks, targeting 0 comp keywords, original helpfull content, it would take google algos 2 - 8 months to figure out most of your articles intent. + you could experience indexing problems in this period.
after that , you can easily achieve 100, 1000 or even more , depending on what you'r writing about , and how you'r writing it !

Niche/ keyword / potential PPC or PPV , you need a plan , its not easy as it was before (staring a blog / spam / profit) $hit is different nowadays , for some keywords you need years to achieve even $10 per month

Do you have any strategy, plan for the activities or have you just started posting randomly? How long it will take you to start earning money from a blog, nobody can tell you indeed as it depends on the niche you target, how competitive the market is for it, do you promote your site in some way, etc.

For the sake of conversation and possible help to other(s) (beginners) you should consider explaining a little bit of various IM monetisation methods, network types, ad types, etc.
Like someone said before - you should take a lot more of inputs to make required calculations. My opinion - Try making some quality blog and place display ads and affilate links/offers. That way all you have to invest is to buy some Wordpress theme, domain, hosting and (of course) your time to write and research. Also, learn. Learn a lot! Try to find out as much as you can about IM (Internet marketing). Check YouTube for free content for example. If you have some money check online courses....
Don't forget persistence. If you decide to write 2-3 articles per day then do it. Do proper keyword research. Do what you know best and concentrate on learning more everyday. Eventually it'll pay off one day one way or another.
