best lightweight news theme

So I am looking into a wordpress news theme but there are so many I thought I consult the great BHW haha. So I am looking for an lightweight, easy to manage Wordpress theme which can handle thousands of visitors.

I would suggest something like Newspaper, Publisher & Sahifa themes,
Check the top themes in ThemeForest, almost all of them are pretty optimised,
And always keep in mind, a theme is just a part of the equation, you need a decent server to get the best speed

I had a look at the "newspaper" since that was the most sold and reviewed one. anyone experience with that one? the reviews mention it being bloated quite. is there one which is lightweight?

I vote for Newspaper. Whoever said its heavy or slow, simply not doing basic speed optimization. Tagdiv is now offering CSS analyzer to stop loading unnecessary scripts that slows down the website. Plus, their support is literally topnotch.

Newspaper or i will go with astra but not sahifa. Also avoid theme forest themes. Theme author will abendon the theme in a year or two. Leaving you scrambing for new theme.
You gotta realize that theme forest doesn't own anything it's just a marketplace for individual authors.

thanks everyone! I have opted for newspaper after seeing all the reviews and options it allows me to scale or be as small I want but fairly fast.. so it seems haha. thanks again !

I ran all the Tests(GTMetrix, Pingdom, PageSpeed Insights, etc…) I found a relatively new theme that is faster than Astra and a little bit faster than Neve. The theme is “Suki” –> https://wordpress.org/themes/suki/
Would be awesome if you Test it versus “Astra”, “Neve” and “Hello”, so that you can see for yourself and update your final ranking.
