tl;dr: If I buy a new silent computer, where should I spend more money - ram or processing power or a better graphics card?

I am looking to replace a decade old i5, 24GB computer with something new for video production. My machine will be windows and be used for screencast video recording.
My current machine does the recording okay, but editing is too slow. My goal is a silent PC.
The process would be record several snippets, throw them together in an editor, add animations and then encode it for youtube.

Looking at the options I am wondering what upgrade will be the biggest punch for spending a bit more
  • 32-> 64gb ram?
  • bigger passive graphic cards
  • better cpu?
thx!

While this isn't related to your question, are you putting the old computer on sale?

No it will be a secondary computer for other task

The CPU is the most important PC component for video editing as far as I know.

I used to have issues with a lack of RAM when I did logo animations on AfterEffects. I'm not an expert though, but I think the RAM is the thing that is in charge of the working process (live render) while the GPU is what helps you render out your projects faster.

But I think you should be okay with 32 GB RAM unless you want to do something Pixar level. What is your current GPU?

If you want to improve your video production I recommend you to buy better CPU like Ryzen Series and for Ram You are good at 24GB and If you can get better GPU It would be plus to your production.

I think CPU it's a main thing.
RAM does not affect https://upsquare.si/video-produkcija so much. You, first of all, need a powerful processor, preferably a new Ryzen, because the more threads and the core, the faster your computer will work and render video. You need to buy a video card at least RTS 2070, but now the prices on the market are huge because everyone is attracted to cryptocurrency. By the way, I would also advise you to buy an SSD, perhaps you will not notice the increase in benefits, but you will work much faster on your computer. Thirty-two gigabytes of RAM is entirely enough for your purposes.
