Not a bad little find but the links this site creates are all encoded so it won't pass PageRank of have any real value with Big G. It's cute though.
No clue what you're talking about. None of the links are encoded and all megafoo links are ********. Most of the secondary are ********.
FTR: I don't care about PR at all. The sooner you forget about that myth, the better your rankings will be.
If you just submit your URL and leave it at that this will do _nothing_ for you.

The only place you're inner linked within megafoo is in the tags & a-z directory part ... but you're mixed in with 5,500 other sites so that's not much help. The inner linking is about to end as I launch the paid version, though I'll keep the free one open for you guys.
I guess we have to make a list that has to be updated with new sites like these.
Send them Andrew's way and I'll include them. Also, if you notice one of the sites going down, I'll remove them (it's happened to 3 so far).
To optimize this:
1. Search a old domain with a lot of backlinks
2. Copy your Links from MegaFoo
3. Make your own Website for this backlinks
Great post ez, I've done this before and it's golden. Just make a rolling sitemap of these links for all of your sites. They sell sites with 1000's of backlinks @ DP for beans and peanuts if they don't have PR. Backlinks will get your new domain well spidered and that will, in turn, get all of these links indexed with a quickness.
hmm... I seem to have a bizzare problem... when i create my directory page it lists a load of links to pages that dont exixt anymore (from the previous domian owner) and only my homepage ... also... there are only 5 links on the page ?! ...... im clearly doing something wrong .. or missing the point here... can someone explain please?
Those links are pulled from the yahoo API. If you're not indexed there, you don't get the 10 deep links to your pages. However, if you get listed in Y! in the future, they'll automagically show up.
seems like it change the site to http://www.sitename.com. if my sitename is http://sitename.com (without www), will it make difference?
I strip the dubs because it looks cleaner. Link juice will still pass since you're redirecting all non-www traffic to the www version of your site ... you are doing that, aren't you??? If not, google it. YOU SHOULD BE.
I'm thinking linking back from an about us page is a relevant start.
Hey joebert, check out the "edit this listing" link and scroll down to the bottom left. You'll notice a convenient copy & paste of all the links megafoo provides that's formatted just right for aboutus.org.
I'm assuming submitting this to onlywire would be all that we need to do then to get all these backlinks indexed?
Hey hawk, check out what I just told joebert and you'll notice right under that how many googlebot visits your page has had. If that number is around zero I'd suggest you do more.
Isn't this just a big ping program? I may be confused... either way, its a good way for Megafoo to get some backlinks to their site.

That's a great tool, I just used it, and I'm building some links to it now, How many links to megafoo.com/web/MySite do I need to build for G to find it? are we talking 3 or 4, or more like 20+?
I <3 comment spam so I drop 3 links to all 45 sites linked inside megafoo as well as build some to megafoo page. Some of the sites have some serious authority, by providing some extra link juice to those pages, it passes more to your sites & is really a quality link. I've also been known to rotate through megafoo directory links using forum signatures, this really works.
