Need Website Built - $1100 - Design & Programming

i need a website built for an idea that i had. looking for someone who can make a site that looks nice/professional and also functions exactly like i need it to. i also need someone who is trustworthy. the source code will belong to me and i dont need someone who is going to try to sell it to other people when this job is done. payment is $400 when i see a functioning beta site, and $700 when the job is complete. ideally i would like this job completed within 2 weeks.

here is a very basic premise of my site:

People will be able to create an account on my site. They will have a member panel. From here, they can create a 'listing'. When they submit their listing it will be sent to my admin panel where i can review it. I can accept it and it will go live on the site, or i reject it and the member will be sent an email saying it got rejected (i will need a place to write a note explaining why).
The admin panel should also display all the live listings, and I will need the ability to edit any of the details of the listing, or to delete a listing totally if i find it fails to meet my terms and conditions.

The website needs to look really kick ass. Should be user friendly and easy to navigate.

This is the very basic description of what I'm looking for. I'm not going to post the details here for obvious reasons.

also, this will be a whitehat website, nothing shady at all about it, but i think someone from this forum would be able to understand exactly how to do the job rather than hiring someone from rentacoder.

A custom fully interactive website will cost far more to build from scratch than 1k, with that kinda budget you should get a modified custom template using an existing cms.

Save your money and go with joomla, it will do all that you need it to do with extensions. If you need some help with that route, shoot me a PM.

good advice from xplicit, I'm not a joomla guy.. working mainly with WP, but it's amazing what can be done with both of those platforms. And yes.. $1100 seems like a lot, but not if someone has to code it from the ground up.... take time and testing.

Yep joomla is what you looking for... and you have lot's of tutorials on the web were you can learn who to use it
You can get professional templates and components for $80 and pay $100 to $200 to customize one of those templates.. (check out yootheme . com)

or you can wire a freelancer to built a custom design from $300 to $400.

Showbizvet 1100 is not a lot.. I take 1400€ for webdesign / seo contents and custom joomla installation + 200€ year to secure the site...

$1100 is too much (this is for the guy who said is not a lot).

I can make a site for $50 but I simply wont!

Up until today I only had bad paying costumers not unsatisfied clients and the ones that said to me that my work was expensive.. well... a great part of them comeback and hired me..

And I'm almost 100% sure that this site is going to need a great amount of security and attention.. you don't pay that kind of work and knowledge for less than $1500..
