So I'm starting a movie streaming website and need some advice before I begin.

I built the website from scratch using html PHP bootstrap MySQL. (didn't want to use wordpress because I'm broke and I wanted to test myself from what I learned on my PHP courses...)

I have most of the decisions figured out but I just need some advice to know if I'm doing things correctly or I'm being counterproductive.

I'm currently using doodstream for my video hosing and I plan on going premium so my videos don't get deleted after 60 days of inactivity because I don't think I will most likely get any viewers right off the bat.

I'm downloading movies 1 by 1 and uploading them to doodstream just to add them to my website (this is the part I feel like its counterproductive), am I just wasting time doing it this way and is there any benefit to my method?

I plan on using an offshore VPS just to be sure I don't get in trouble even thought in my country it isn't much of a problem (might use a VPN as well just to be extra sure).

I'm still figuring out what affiliate I will use but that isn't much of a issue I will think about it when I get there.

Now I still don't have the name of the website decided and still don't know if long or short name paired with .com would be good.

My database only consists of admin table and movie table, movie table has name, genre, image, video url, download url and description (I feel like I should make it have more tables but I still want to keep it simple for now but then again what if I want to make a better looking website down the line and make categories(genre) a separate table?).

For now I'm going to be looking for a job so I can potentially afford to put my website on the internet and work on getting traffic (as I said I'm broke).

I have so many other questions but I rather not make this post any longer than I already have, my website looks like shit but I'm proud of making it and the effort I'm putting into it daily. Any feedback is appreciated!

Use def. vpn and a offshore hosting!

offshore hosting for sure

doodstream has a API as well as a FTP if you are pretty good with coding you can automatically upload to FTP or use the API for that it is pretty simple and can probably easily be done by an experienced programmer.

go for a short name that is easily rememberable as many sites like this are shared word of mouth

Thank you for replying! I'm not very experianced in coding and I'm still trying to uderstand what FTP and API are used for and how to apply them. Could you possibly explain what they are in a simple way for me to understand so I can research and apply them later?

okay, since ur broke, ill give you the rundown version of a broke movie setup to get going.
*remember, this is for broke setting up, obviously not as secure or best of settings, but get better settings when u have more money.*
1. used shared hosting
you can get easy shared hosting for like $2 a month/$10 a year.
no point paying $10+ a month for the 50ish users for the first few months.
2. yes to vpn
seed4me offers free VPN
3. you definitely need more in your database
tags, actor/ress, keywords, alt url, second genre - scrape an IMDB(or go to website) and see all the extras
4. doodstream premium is a waste of money
okay, premium gives u no ads or whatever, but u want to go cheap... ninjastreams, streamzz, or fembed are FRE, no deleting, dmca ignored video file hosts.
u could even go the ol' netu and pay $2 per TB to keep alive.
5. u should not be downloading & uploading.
some of the above mentioned(and if ur going to stick with premium) allow direct torrent download(API - through google collab) so the video host downloads the torrent, not to you
BUT if youre going to download/upload, u should be using ZOOM, not ftp at all. zoom allows multi upload to 50+ hosts.
6. u shouldnt be embedding the movies urself.
there are ALOT of php/cms websites on github with autoupload. save urself some time and do some searching.
7. you dont want .com
.com is americanized/regulated(cant remember the exact wording), you need to go .su .ru .to etc from countries that dont follow the DMCA/EU regulation laws if you want to keep it up.
7a. do NOT go through godaddy/namecheap/known sites
there are a few but njal is the main none that comes to mind.

thats all i got for you for now

Thank you all the info it helps A LOT!!!

1. I will most likely do as you said for the shared hosting because its cheaper for the beginning.

2. I checked out seed4me and it seems to not be free anymore only 7 days free trial, but its not much of a problem its cheap anyway.

3. I will add more to my database, I already put all genres in the initial genre by putting spaces in between (I guess this is a bit inconvenient) but my website is just starting out and I will change most of the things in the future.

4. I will stick with doodstream for now, thanks for the telling me about other sites as well!

5. I will stick with download/upload for now, it gives me something to do and keeps me busy I guess I don't mind doing it.

6. Well I'm a bit inexperienced in all of this and want to keep it simple, I would love to have something autoupload movies while I focus on making the website more popular but I just don't know how to implement the auto-uploading (even if it might be more simple than I think).

7. I will most likely go with .to even thought it is 60 euros per year on njal.la to have the .to

Again, thank you for all the info I will try to apply most of it and make my website better!

Not "optional" but highly recommended! And not a whatever VPN but Multi-layer VPN
I understand, but is it really necessary to use a multi-layer VPN if I'm just starting out and wont have any significant views for months? What I'm worried about is the it will significantly lower my internet speed (or so I read on the internet) when I use the multi-layer VPN. But I guess slower internet is the least of my worries when it comes to this.

Firstly regardless if you are just starting out you need VPN.

In regards the speed. Premium VPNs don't have such issues.

2.
promo code: TOOSHEH
3. just remmeber, its not just SEO/spamming your website, keywords are needed to rank too.
4. just remember, doodstream isnt dmca ignore
5. yeah u can stick with that, but for easy, check out the zoom app
7. also watch out with .to - they are changing their laws(check torrentfreak for update)
any more info, fel fre to message me or reply on here.

thanks for this useful information. I have a few questions from you:

1. isn't ninjastreams, etc too slow? users just leave website because of delays ...
2. what is the ol' netu ? you mentioned 2$ per TB can u share their website?
3. I can't find ZOOM app. sorry, please share this too.
4. what auto-upload cms do you suggest? like cinemaPress? can you share some of them?
5. do the movie streaming websites profitable or worth it in 2022?

thanks you so much.

ninjastream --> THEY ARE CLOSING THEIR SITE!!!
Try: streamsb.com --> Free video hosting they dont delete files!
Dont host all the videos on 1 host ! Upload videos on different video hosts.
Get ready for Google DMCA .

1. yes, but free. comparing it to $50-$200 per month.
2. netu.tv is one of the original movie hosting sites. they charge like $2 per TB per month without deletion.
3. search Z_O_O_M
4. i can share the automation code, but cinemapress or wovie adapt the same style.
5. yes they are. covid restrictions has made the popularity much more profitable and sought after

6. can you share github link to how to automate the embed movies. i was thinking multiple video host 10-15 option. but it cost too much time for thousand of movies.

also you said use Multi layer vpn how will do that ? once we login with vpn can we use another vpn at the same time in 1 computer ?

most of this servers like mixdrop allow you to duplicate links, that way you just need get the link of mixdrop from another streaming website and duplicate to your account

For offshore hosting you need One that ignored DMCA

In your case and you are using videos it will consume RAM I recommend you go to a VPS (easy to learn in YouTube and Blogs) many tutoriais

Those hostings ignore DMCA:
https://alexhost.com/vps/https://flokinet.ishttps://2x4.ru
Use a VPN (not free) Mullvad VPN is excellent for privacy concerns, you also have OVPN but is a little more expensive. You also have iPredator VPN (njal.la VPN renamed now).

You also have Doublehop.me a good VPN only accept crypto.

Forget NordVPN, Surfshark, IPVanish, PureVPN. Use a VPN that is privacy focused.
