I am wondering, is there any money to be made in game hacks / cracks?
Of course there are people making money in it, but it seems to be mostly from centralized websites / hacking groups.
I'm curious because I started off making game hacks, etc, but I never could make a single dollar from it.

I hear profit for hacked versions of game apps pays well when it's locked behind a survey or content locker of some sort. Not all games are easy to make a hacked app version for though.

I feel like people do that with content lockers, but never actually provide the hack which causes a lot of distrust. I remember people doing that years ago, it was pretty much the first thing that people content locked. So I would assume it would be less profitable now, but I don't know

I used to think the same thing, but there really is no shortage of people willing to go through it. As long as you deliver what you promised your sites rep will carry itself by word of mouth. Some people outright sell hacked apps as well, that's always an option.

Less profitable but still profitable I would assume. There are few guys in the "my journey" section here that do the CPA + YT thing. I would start from there.

Youtube is a really good funnel for this sort of thing. That's usually how i find most of the "hacks" I'm looking for on occasion :P

You don't provide the real hack because that will get you in serious trouble with the CPA network, your hosting ...etc what you do is providing a sort of a guide that has the name ''Hacks'' on it so your website won't be labelled as misleading.

It is still profitable and many people still do it. It's just a little harder to last long because platforms like YT have become strict and they try to remove them soon as they notice it.

Yeah, I remember it used to be like, a video of someone hacking in the game, and the download in the description. But no longer do I see videos like that, that often.

Yes, exactly. There are more than enough videos like that. Just try to type a popular game name and type in the work "hack" at the end you will plenty of videos. And 99% of them are fake, sadly.

Cracks no, not much to gain and entirely different thing than hacking. Making hacks for online games can be great money, but this is very black hat and companies and sometimes governments will come after you, if you become a big provider. To be fair, if you don't know the difference, you won't be doing either any time soon.

How much money, you ask?

The money is not in content locking "free hacks". It is in subscription business. Passionate online game cheaters will drop from couple dozen to several $100 a month on access to a working hack, undetected by anti-cheat software at the time. It is also why online gaming is dead and a complete waste of time. Cheating is very mainstream nowadays. Goes beyond gaming, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms. :D

i was researching fortnite game hacks for fun a year ago and found some forums. they looked fairly active. the main part of the forum was selling real aimbots/wallhacks for the game. think it was $15-60 for a license to it. if u keep searching you will find such communities exist for every casual/competitive game if it is popular enough. subscription model can work here too like @oldguyjoe mentioned. these tools need to be maintained, patched, upgraded. main ingredient i saw is you have to build a community around it. could be as simple as maintaining a discord server.

game hacker users are split into 2 groups. casual users using free tools that are "ok" and get you banned due to anti-cheat detection. and enthusiast users with paid tools that are better and less likely to be detected.
my main problem with this niche is most gamers are kids. kids don't have a credit card. i understand the age of avg gamer is growing these days. just something to consider.
as for cracks, all that stuff is free. pirates have the tightest wallets.
"fake" game tools can be lucrative here because they are free/appealing. however the heydays of content locking that have peaked and is in a decline.

@oldguyjoe you made me think of all those prestigious gaming tournaments you see on twitch with big cash prizes.
there's always a few stories per month of users being accused of cheating and some getting caught red handed.
if you could make solid hacks and appeal to those players in leagues, you could potentially sell unethical gamers with a high price tag hack tool.

There is still a lot of money to be made. These games target teenagers. So, new customers keep coming. It's not like we are opening a shop for repeat customers. You can check CPA section to know more about game hacks with content lockers.

Huh? That was from a different niche...
Also, why are you checking my old posts? Get off me

Yeah, exactly, as games are constantly renewing.

I actually think there is not much cheating going on in the big tournaments, especially where organizer prepares computers and players play on-site, not form home. While these guys would be willing to pay a lot more per hack, there are not many of them. I think it happens way more in every-day online matchups with average players. Sure there are some streamers that are potential customers so that their videos can gain more traction, because of how good they appear to be, but the massive market is among the average online gamers that want an easy advantage. For start, you can take a look at different game hacking forums that include sales threads to estimate the demand and market value within each community.

I think for these large tournaments, they use the tournament's computers, right?
But didn't one guy get caught for uploading a hack through USB? Or was that just a story I remember

You can earn a few bucks daily, or thousands of dollars, but you know, you know...

Of course people are making money from game hacks and they will continue making money. These offers are targeted towards a younger audience so you'll have fresh people coming in that have never seen content lockers before.

I've been in this niche on and off since I've started in 2014 and it always generates money. I'm still doing it but I am going for a more whitehat approach rather than the fake game hacks on youtube.
