This channel was demonetized when this video was @ 4k views.
Not really bummed out about it but 2 weeks after starting the channel it started seeing these numbers on every video so it would've been an easy $3k+ a month from this channel alone.
Got 60% retention on every video too, insane analytics.

Did they give a reason for demonetization?

Reused content, even though the videos fell under fair use and there is much bigger channels doing the same exact thing which are monetized.

You can't do what big channels are doing. There is monopoly of influential people on Youtube. They once took down my video for trademark infringement. I explained them how trademark laws work. They responded after 2 months that it's a legal notice from trademark owner and there is nothing they could do.

They're not really that much bigger, they're new channels doing the same thing but they're seeing big success.
I don't think they reported me to YouTube to be honest, just a luck thing.

In which way have you transformed original videos? With voiceover or?

i would do some heavy research on how to win an appeal (if you allowed to do it again).
can you run a new account with the same method?
a lot of these dmca requests on youtube seem to be a luck/monopoly thing like others have mentioned.

As far as I know, we should be careful while using content under fair use policy. Though most of the people use it, there is always risk associated with it. Real problem comes, when YT takes off monetization quoting the reason as "reused content" (though it falls under fair use policy) and there is nothing we can do about it except reapplying to consider their decision.

If they don't consider it what we can do? Nothing! Isn't it.

Whiteboard animation over famous people's speeches.
Maybe you take a famous speech from youtube? Try to take podcast videos that are not on youtube. I have found one channel that takes podcast speeches of David Dobrik and adds some pictures to the video. He is still monetized.

Some people are evil by nature. One of my channels was reported for copyright for reused content by a small channel (the video is not owned by them either). I just deleted the video and moved on. They reported 4-5 videos within a week and got my channel banned. It's difficult to survive in Youtube with reused content.
