I have no idea why no one has opened a thread about it.

Google announced last night that is has begun rolling out a new algorithm update targeting search spam. The new update is named the November spam update and should take about a week to rollout fully.

Google said on Twitter "as part of our regular work to improve results, we've released a spam update to our systems. This November 2021 spam update should be fully rolled out within a week. We encourage sites to follow our best practices for Search."

Notice the fluctuations going on:

This is getting ridiculous. lol. The amount of updates being rolled out is just madness.

So... take care all. It's gonna be a worrying week starting today!

One of my spam sites has increased double in google traffic last few days. Thank you google for taking care of us hardworking people
Why you assume spam is not hardworking :D

So they're basically giving a huge middle finger to quality websites and gifting a huge crown to spammers?

I have no idea why no one has opened a thread about it.

So does this mean that the new algorithm purposefully gives spam traction in order to flag it for manual review if they find that spam is dominating a particular niche whereas organic sites are further down the totem pole?

I'm wondering what QA google has in place to make sure all these updates don't bring down user experience.

Anybody knows about surveys google is doing do have external feedback?

Or is it just CTR on their SERP and user stay time on results clicked (that they for sure measure with chrome)

I don't make my site spam proof. I make it like spam then proceed further. Hope it helps !!

So how's everyone's sites doing?

Google algorithm be like:

Player abc.com eliminated.

And search results shuffling so madly it is like dancing.

Few spammers, bot-like users and Chinese useless traffic has been eliminated from the SERP's.

But again I saw this during the weekend. So, no gurantee. ;)

Yes, mainly focused on content based spam update. It seems it will affect backlinks spam site too and cause too droop.

Anyone noticed anything strange as this update is ongoing?

I'm noticing traffic throttling despite keyword rankings still staying the same (no hit and no improvement at all).

Like in the morning, traffic would be really awful. Then afternoon a slight improvement. By night, traffic seems to be back to normal.
Sometimes it could be the other way round... Morning, a good steady flow of traffic; then afternoon and night it becomes awful.

It has been happening since the update was first announced. As for my sales, it has been abnormally low since late October's update.

Guess it is big G's way of throttling traffic to scare webmasters to go for paid ads? lol

Edit: Oh, and I just noticed my competitors who were using the PDF methods (whether is it hosting the file on high authority sites, or just PDF upload sites) have all been eliminated.
