Ridiculously cheap $1 to $5 a year hosting plans??

So I was board and on eBay and came across a slew of these ridiculously cheap (I'm talking I had to like double check to make sure I was reading that right) allegedly unlimited shared and reseller hosting packages for $1 to $5 per year...

Was wondering if any of you guys have any experience using those types of services for they really cheap pbn setup? If so let me know how it went...

I would stay away from those. Chances are these are fly-by-night operations that disappear without warning after getting your money.

You need a trustworthy company for hosting. You can't just store data on anything you find online. They might disappear without a trace and you have no one except yourself to blame. I'm using Hostkoala for a test project and never had any issues. Their plans start from $5/year. Their loading speed is on par with similar shared hosting services like hostgator.

This is a good deal actually, I am might get me one. It's giving a .com free with it. So a .com and hosting for 12$ is not bad. Godaddy is down to lowest common denominator, just where it belongs.

Whenever I want to register a domain I just get this deal and it gives me a year of free hosting. I have over 30+ of these in my account. (Just remember to cancel at end of the year and transfer your files to a new server when you buy this deal again next year.) This deal has been going on for multiple years now and it's not going anywhere.

I would never make a money site on hosting like that, between downtime and other problems I'd rather pay 10 times more for a decent host.

Ebay sellers sells all kind of weird things, including serial keys for Windows / Office and other software, which is sometimes blocked by Ebay itself after you purchase it (they give you back your money and cancel the deal). Buying web hosting, reseller accounts and other membership services from Ebay sellers will most probobly result in you losing your money, sooner or later.

You can host a lot of websites with 20 GB
disk space. And unlike other provders, their servers are fast.
