How would you tackle taking on someone else’s e commerce CBD store ( buying their store) that has four years of history and say 70k a year in sales with no advertising. The creator well known in the community with a great reputation.
Three questions:
1. This late to the CBD party would you purchase for 50K ? (Payment arrangement)
2. Is affiliate marketing just as profitable regarding these products with 10k out of pocket for marketing versus 50k for established store?
3. Without getting sucked into some “great SEO“ approach for a gazillion bucks what and how would you approach its growth?
(also based in a state w/ rec legalization so CBD a non issue - for now)

Thanks for any input!

LATAM and Australia are still good for CBD sales. Especially for traffic arbitrage. USA clients - try Vape products, if you want to find a specific niche tj make money on CBD

I have built two CBD brands from new domains, Jan 2019 and Feb 2020. First reached a peak 200k/month after 1 year of intensive marketing, 20k to 30k per month and now has dropped to 80k/m. Same budget but less results as things are very saturated.

The second is more niche focused and sustainable for probably another year, but I imagine will gradually get squeezed eventually. It does 30k to 40k per month, 5k monthly marketing budget.

I've handed both of these brands off to another established company so I focus on my own SaaS. CBD SEO is one of the most competitive things I've done, brands in both USA and UK markets are racing to the bottom shelf price for market share, I would do Australia or another country if you do decide to jump in.

Also beware of some shady company's in CBD niche, negative SEO attacks are frequent, and be prepared to have super affiliates running Google ads on your brand name searches.

Just my two cents, best of luck!

If it's money you have spare then this is one to go into, but it'd be better to bolt onto an existing brand.

$70k in sales isn't much in CBD, we have clients doing 5 times that per month.

Can you recommend someone from the marketplace that can assist with traffic, etc. The site makes 70 k simply as a place where people that know him go to make a purchase. I’m looking to build off of that with more products, marketing, etc. Thanks!

@MisterF has the experience in getting your SEO content/backlinks up to par. I can't really recommend any specific service on BHW as top CBD marketing requires an intricate amount of marketing techniques all at once.

Real PBNs, mass local seo pages ( buy cbd oil in [city], [state/province] ), even parasite articles like LAWeekly and SFWeekly are very abused now but used to work a year ago. Find new publications with good authority/traffic that have no posted about CBD yet, hit them up for pricing and roll out x5 or x10 articles at once before comp catches on.

As far as advice on whether to buy the website or not, I would propose a deal to take a set $$$$ per month as you try some marketing over the next 2-3 months with an agreement to take a % of anything extra you help the site make in revenue from its current state. See how it goes, this isn't something you want to rush into IMO.

I can't recommend myself as that would be seen as selling outside the marketplace, but @tidelow has offered up a great name in his reply ;)

I imagine if new products, even new non CBD products promoted on site that has to be better than was has been getting promoted which is zero. Is there a name for this type of marketing and or pushing other products on CBD site to gain additional traffic? Again, thank you
