Help!! Page Title Update: Titles "Menu - Site name"

Hello everybody!

Does anybody have any tips for me with my page titles in the SERPs. Google is changing them to horrible titles that make zero sense such as "Menu - Site Name" , "Content - Site Name" or even "show - Site Name".

I am baffled and confused about how to go about fixing this. I have no idea where they are even getting those words from for the title. I would say it i for about 20% of thee articles on my site.

It's either a theme or a SEO plugin issue, if you ask me. It sets the meta tags automatically to Site Name and the type of post, either content or show or whatever. Look into that

It definitely does sound like it would be what you're saying but I've checked and it's not. I'm using generatepress and SEO Framework plugin and all title/meta tags are correct. I'm quite experienced in SEO doing it full time for 15 years so I know about these very basic things.

Any other ideas?

I'll also add that I'm seeing the exact same thing happen with other sites on page 1 for my target keywords.

Last google core update is reason for that. How many characters you have in title and meta description tag?

Hi mate,

I don't believe that was a core update. It was the page title update. Since I'm not talking about meta description that should be irrelevant. The title tags are 55-65 characters each.
