It finally happened: Google asks for Ads Account Verification – HELP

Hey guys,

I was pretty much waiting for this for over 1 year. Now it finally happened. Google asks for Ads Account verification.

I’m doing advertising mainly in Europe, but also Mexico and Colombia. My ads are more or less White Hat. At least I never struggled with ad rejections or something like this. I spent more than 200k over the last 2 years, so I assume I gained some trust.

HOWEVER: I don’t really want to have my (German) company name showing up next to my ads. It feels like my competitors are just waiting for that moment so they can unleash their lawyers and finally eat me. Currently, all my landing pages have an US company from New Mexico as the “owner”. I set this up for more privacy protection.

As soon as I verify my Google Ads account with my German company, the privacy is gone. Therefore, I’m looking for a solution, but it feels like I only have one shot.



This one shot starts already with the first question from Google: Do I run ads on my own or as an agency? If I select “agency”, I have the possibility to enter different company details for certain ad campaigns. Though I need to do the verification process for every single company I type in.

If I select “I run ads on my own”, I only must verify my German company, but then it’s showing up for all my ad campaigns. From a verification process point of view, this is the safer option as I’m pretty sure that the verification will be smooth.

BUT: I would like to have the US company showing up next to my ads. In this case I would need to select “I run ads as an agency”.

As far as I understood, I would need to do verification for those three types:

1. My German company
2. The US company
3. The Person behind the company, that pays the ads (the German company)

For 1) and 3) I have all the necessary documents. However, for 2), the US company, I don’t have any of the accepted documents. I read that Google also accepts the DUNS number as a document, but is that enough? Does anyone have experiences with that?

If the verification could be successful with the DUNS number, I might request one. Even though I’m afraid, that with requesting that number, some of the company’s privacy will also vanish.


Second question I have is: If I run ads as an agency, how does the invoice look like? Does anyone have experiences with that? Is the company’s name written on the invoice, for which I’m running the ads?
So, let’s assume that the verification process will be successful as an agency and I start running ads again, how do my invoices look like? The payments will always be made by my German company. Will the US company ever be mentioned in the invoices if I advertise as an agency?

If anyone could help me with this, share his experiences or opinions, I would appreciate it a lot. I have time until the 4th of November to submit all documents and start the verification. If not done by that date, my campaigns will be paused.

You'll pretty much need to verify correctly or risk real trouble inserting fake data (it's illegal where I am).

Either you find some other account (relatives?) or forget about it altogether. I wouldn't go for fake data, it's very controlled now days due to a bunch of legislation all over the place.

I would not provide any fake data, I guess you got me wrong. The US company exists, the German company exists and my personal ID exists as well. Its just that I don't have any of the documents that Google needs for verifying the US company, yet. Thats why I also asked about the DUNS number, as I could request one pretty fast.

Why don't you just create a personal account and verify as yourself. Then you're free to post whatever ads and likely won't be tied to whatever brand you're trying to avoid or whatever.

Just to remind you Duns number is less anon than German company
But I think you have nothing to lose. If you have the option to submit it and not doing any changes that can also damage your account, I would take the risk.

If you don't want to use your company name , then make a new account

I can give you a solution to that issue:
Chat with Google Rep. and ask them to switch your account from Organisation to Personal - because you are a person and that's runs through your personal. They will send you an email and switch the billing profile to Personal - COMPLETELY NEW and you will take it from 50EUR / USD threshold again but use the same PAYMENT METHOD always.
After all the passing will be done, you will need to verify the personal one - from my experience with some of the accounts - the name will not appear near to the ads if they aren't betting / sex / election related.

Very important: don't use fake IDs because you will be suspended for circumventing so everything will be better to be REAL and SAFE.

If you want to get a invoice and use it for your bookkeeping, you have to provide real company Name.

Otherwise you may not be able to declare the costs as marketing costs for the company and for those, you may not be able to pay that before taxes and reduce tax on your company.

Better use the real company before the "betriebsprüfer" bring you trouble later on.

there is no way you can bypass this verification. you must submit all the documents. i also have Uk accounts. if you don't want to submit just say good by to the account.

Just open or buy some proxy company, f.e. UK limited company and run ads from it, or Cyprus, or Malta, or Lithuania, or Czech, or whatever, you have plenty of options in EU. Buying empty company costs like 200$

It's just normal ltd company, I used name "proxy" to describe how it would work in that case.

Just type "buy a readymade company" and you'll get plenty of choices. I bought few of mine from my local accountant, he had few of them unused. You don't have to buy it, you can simply just launch it yourself
