FB/Google custom audience from purchased email list

I bought an email list.

I am wondering about the consequences of uploading that email list to Facebook/Google to create a custom audience and lookalike audience. What do you think about the legality of doing this? (I understand the list may not be the greatest and results may be subpar but that's on me to test)

I don't know about legal consequences. But be sure that all the emails are valids ... If not you are going to waste your budget
