Look for traffic, check sites through Ahrefs.

Check for where the guest post will be located, and where it will end over time. Also check for which backlinks that site already have, and the correlation with your niche.
Metrics themselves are nothing, just a simple guide to filter among hundreds if not thousands of options. But when thinking about 10 or 12 sites, it's better to do this manually.
