I disagree I noticed after a couple of weeks it was not showing in my webmaster tools so I checked and found the article was gone I reached out and it was promptly replaced. I could not find any linking sites to it on the EDU site so I created some links pointing to it (I wanted to be sure it would index) and not too long after that the new link showed in my webmaster tools and I saw ranking increases.
SO my TIP Use Fiverr buy some crap link building package and point it to your EDU article works a charm for indexing.
