Would people be intrested in this

I am just wondering how many people would be interested in this if any.

I am looking at starting my own brand of something not sure right now of what but one idea is a digital camera. Would there be people that would be interested in selling this product on ebay or your stores? I figured since it would be a no/new name product dropshipping would be about the only way people would be willing to even try this. I thought a few of you guys might want to try it for a bit to see if it will sell and if it does then buy wholesale if it doesn't then you are just out the money you tried to advertise. Do you think people on here would be interested in doing this? Let me know your thoughts/ideas and if you think i should even try to make my own brand.

That's a great idea. Depending on what you would charge, you could do very well. If you are able to create your own brand of digital camera, and offer it at a price lower than other distributors/manufacturers, you'll have a goldmine.

However, if you have to charge more than companies like Nikkon, Sony and others, then you're dead in the water. These guys have brand recognition behind them.

Also, if you are dropshipping, don't 'nickel and dime' people by adding a dropshipping charge, unless you really need too. And be sure to offer 'blind dropshipping', where the return address of the package is not your address, but that of the distributor/client.

I would am thinking the cost would probably be around $50-60 for 10 mega pixel digital cameras. I wouldn't put in a drop shipping fee and My cost would include Priority shipping in the US. I am coming here fist because i know there are a lot of people that sell on here and are always looking for a distributor so i figured what if i become a distributor and have you guys sell my product. You guys would be making my name popular and this would keep my cost down on not having to advertise and not having to have a brick and mortar store. I will have to get more detail on the price and who everything would work because i am trying to find out the interest in doing this type of thing. If there is a lot of intrest shown i will be moving forward on this and figuring out all the details.

The best way in finding out what do people really need is creating a website , where you will offer different incentives for people to answer a quick survey. or if you want it easier, you can make a pge with a simple poll, and offer the people the chance to win.. if they answer the poll.
You could use a viral script , and offer soemthing like .: send..x.. friends, and you will have ..x more chances to win the prize...
This way you will find quickly what people need/want
And if you dont want to give any prize.. then just simply email them after sometime telling them they didnt win

No this is the very beginning stages. I am trying to find out how many people here on blackhat would be willing to promote a product like this. It will be a brand new brand name so advertising will be huge. If i can get a bunch of people trying to sell this product it will save advertising cost on my end thus making the product cheaper. The more people that try to sell the product the faster the name will be recognized, If only one or 2 people are interested in trying this it would be pointless. Because my cost would be to high. I know it his hard to say weather you would be interested in this because i have such little info on it. Basically right now i am looking at digital cameras and camcorders. we are trying to get the price we would sell it to our resellers for around $50 that is your shipped to customer price. we are wanting them to have 8-12 mega pixel. These are just goals we have for the price and might vary. We have a few candidates that will manufacture our product we are just finishing getting our quotes.

I would defenitely be interested!!! If you offer a dropshipping service and no dropship fee's I would post this online....

It is really hard to beat some of those sellers in China. I don't know how they can possibly be making any money.

They produce in massive quantities thats how they make their margins. By quantities I am referring to per 10k. You can easily buy from the manufacturers directly, however its recommended to use a company to source these and speak the language. You can also get the products by 1,000 and 5,000. Obviously the more you buy the better it is for your margin. A lot of companies are buying from China.
