I was analyzing my competitor link profile when i came across this links below

My questions is this type of link still valuable in google eyes and does it move a needle?

These types of directory links are good but you need to check the website first. For instance, the site above has only 2000 results on Google search when you search the below code which might be a red flag:

If it would have been a genuine directory, it would have had way more number of indexed listings.

Sites like Yelp, Manta etc. are genuine ones. Moreover, you have to understand the dynamics of the marketing here. It's not only about SEO. Specially if you're a local business owner, it is highly effective to put business directory listings with genuine looking reviews not only for local SEO but also driving direct targeted traffic.

My competitor is running a normal blog but i notice those link came from a domain he redirected to a particular post and his ranking number one in that particular keyword for more two years now.

I want to replicated what he did although i cand build the link direct to my Money site with doing redirection like he did but I'm afraid.

the main domain has a huge traffic and tons of backlinks but no sure about the subdomain....

just because he ranks, it doesn't mean it's totally due to these links,
they're just a small piece and could have no influence at all actually,
there's more stuff to check as the competitor(s) overall domain link profile, the content used, the age of the website, internal linking, siloing, etc...
you can create links yourself in such websites anyway & test how it goes, they do no harm after all
