Web2.0 once were very powerful backlinks but lately they are not so great.

I would suggest that you try this method on a domain you have sitting around and not directly on your money site, if it works on that domain then do the same for the money site

When you have a choice, always get backlinks from sites with good backlink profile and considerable traffic.

To get a ton of guest posts requires a large budget though which isn't always an option for some clients

There are guest post lists in the marketplace. Some of these services have free plans which let you check all guest post sites. You can check free sites and create backlinks. If you publish quality content in guest posts, these backlinks will have a lot of value.

However, I personally do find that it does help slightly when you have built it correctly.

Oh absolutely, I aim for 1500 words a page with 5-6 pages, plus 4-5 articles at 1,000 - 2,000 words each, all handwritten

I cannot answer that, and anyone who gives you an answer without knowing your site/kw/niches has no real credibility.
It largely depands on your website, niche, keywords and competition.
If we are talking about super low comp, you have a chance, if it's something much tougher, no, web20 won't cut it at alll.

Is there any links you would look at building instead? ******** Profile Creations or anything?

Would you even bother with High DA Web 2.0's?

so, if you feed them with good content, custom design & decent tier 2 links they'll be very useful,
forget about DA, you should make your testing/experience based on google reactions

So if I was to build say 10-20 Web 2.0's to my page focused on a keyword, each Web 2.0 including good content and custom design, then send some T2 links, I should see a good improvement?

What T2 links would you build? Redirects and things?

the ones that could be created automatically with tools like gsa & rankerx and could get indexed are the most suitable for tier 2,
that being said, you should avoid all the trashy links even for tier 2, they're a waste of time,
stick with the contextual (& profiles) and use decent content with lower quality and they'll do the work,
make sure you have a method to get these links indexed tho, just before going in

personally, for now, I just stick with rankerx web 2.0s and don't even bother with the others,
many platforms getting their links deindexed after the spam update even with good quality content, just avoiding as for now

i meant these for the tier 2,
for the tier 1, just stick with the top platforms like blogger, wordpress.com, weebly, wix. etc...
