Lock content based on how much visitor has read

Hello,
i have a wordpress website and i want to monetize it with content locker. i want the locker to be like in news website, where after reading a couple of article, the visitor need to subscribe. But in my case i want to lock the rest of the article behind content locker. Does anyone know how to do that or the plugin to do that? or do i have to hire a developer to develop a custom solution ?

I think if it brings you enough profit to hire a developer, then why not try it? And my advice is to read it yourself first, to study this problem.

This is great, I hope you don't mind? But If i can figure out how one of my first wordpress plugins I want to code up is this. It gives me some ideas to develop it too, into something I've been wanting with a bit extra. Just want to build a few wordpress plugins to learn, and this seems like a great little project to put on the burner for the time being.
