If your content is really good, you can try to run ads, you can start with a small budget and increase it over time.
I saw a lot of people complaining about ads but most of the time the content is bad or they don't know how to target the right audience.

All you can do is try to stand out. It might sound trite, but it's the truth. I think it honestly helps if you try to stick to what you know. At least, try to relate your videos, blogs, or whatever to what you know because you'll be more confident creating the content. You'll also have fun while partaking in the task.

Could not have said it better. Listen to this man preach the truth. I will say, however, people do like lots of content. While quality is imperative, people love more and more as quickly as possible. This is a theory that can be applied to about anything.

Any good resources I can read up on to improve at targeting? I have a budget for ads and content is competitive in the finance/business news area. I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to Google ads.
Other issue is ads keep getting blocked for "sensitive events" but I think that's a separate issue.
