Any advice on niche selection from this bunch?

I'm looking for a bit of advice. I don't want spoon-feeding, just some advice.

I started a journey a few months back when I was all geared up to start my online side hustle but it didn't go anywhere. Basically, my dad passed away and I wasn't in the right headspace.

I'm back! and ready to restart!

I quickly realised when I began working on a site that multiple projects is a non starter! Creating quality content and getting a site to be awesome takes a lot of time and a lot of hours.

I now want to pick ONE site and concentrate on it 110%. No pissing about doing bits here and bits there on multiple projects! Really hone in and create a big site.

Before anyone says, don't put all your eggs in one basket. I've literally thought about this for weeks now and think scaling a site to decent money will be easier (i know it's not easy!) and cheaper than developing multiple sites. I'd sooner have one site earning x,xxx a month than several sites earning x or xxx a month. I know it's a risk especially with how google operates but hey ho.. I may just be stupid!

Im struggling to decide which one of my shortlisted domains to develop! I'm wasting so much time trying to decide.

When I'm weighing them up, I can't help but think I might be missing out by not developing the others that I shortlisted! (I guess this is shiny object syndrome)

Do you guys have any tips on how you would go about picking one over the other?

Choices:

1. Home & Garden - I've got a large Instagram following within this niche.
2. Men's gadgets / Tech
3. Kids toys & Games
4. Pet Niche
5. Outdoors Niche

I can easily write engaging content on any of the above topics, so there isn't one that I prefer over the other.

Any advice would be awesome guys.

Good to know you have made up your mind and settled on one specific task. This being said, I don't see you going wrong with kids toys and games. You might already have a big following in the home and garden, but summer is coming to an end. Not that that will matter all that much, but with the US government child tax credit, parents in the US are getting $300 extra a month for children 6 and up. And they are spending it! It's just a thought.

The instagram followers and Pinterest followers could be a big help for the Home and garden site. Its something I think could be a massive help, especially at the beginning. I have also worked in the home and garden industry and know how much money is in this kind of niche.

Kids toys - I have four children, 3 boys and a girl so there are plenty of toys in my house which I can review to get this site started. Got some good ideas to make the site different from others out there. My only concerns are...
1. Is it more of a seasonal niche.. With the busy spell on the run up to xmas?
2. A lot of toys are in the cheap bracket (under £60), which means commissions will be low which then means you need a lot more sales to generate more.

I would say 1. If you already have a large instagram followers.
Not only that, because it's creative and you can get more engagement out of it.

As you mentioned any of the 5 choices you will be happy about and are interested. I would still say number 1 simply because
The rest are more "here the stuff, here my info, here what i think and here my review" type.
While 1. can be alot more of a personal touch.
Pets can be a nice niche too, however, as you are probably aware or thinking already, it's super competitive here and your KW research needs to be spot on.

If this is well done, you will be easily top ranked.
There isn't as much info on fishes for the fish nerds.
Especially when it comes to which fish are best for which type of cooking/food.

Yeah, it's what i was thinking to be honest. Why not take advantage of my insta and Pinterest account which has been built up naturally over many many years of posting house renovation and general house and garden things.

I would go with "1. Home & Garden - I've got a large Instagram following within this niche", you already have a social impact on that niche, that is good for promoting your next content if you find out at tough competition try to go with shoulder niches that there is a plant in that field...Good luck, keep your heads up.

Thanks for the advice guys. It does seem like a no brainer but, I just can't help but think I could be missing out by not developing the others. I'll just keep the domains and maybe develop in the future when my other site is smashing it.

I really like the pet niche category, but I suggest that you drill down on a specific type of pet and also find questions related to that pet.

This has worked for me.

I focus on a specific pet, and I look for questions that people ask regarding those pets.

As an added bonus, let me throw this out there.

Not all questions are created equal.

Some questions have a lot of competitors already so use the keyword difficulty rating feature of many SEO tools to filter questions that you can answer for your site.

The key here is to focus on easy wins.

And once you rank those pages, start targeting more competitive topics.

Home & Garden because you already have supporting social media. The niche is pretty big and I would assume competitors are not as aggressive as in other niches.

You need to think about how you're gonna monetise it and work it all out from back there.
