People are frequently asking where they can buy Bitcoin without ID verification. Here's a notecard sized list of exchanges, most of which I haven't heard of, which are compared alongside each other: https://kycnot.me/
I think that KYC destroys this space, Bitcoin is pseudo-anonymous and if you verify with KYC you will destroy the anonymity.

KYCNot.me has compiled a list of the best websites for it, I personally don't recommend Bisq, too laggy. The other ones on the list are good! Enjoy!

BTC ATMs, no KYC there. Safest option of all and even more private than buying online.

What is the Problem with KYC?

The same happens to Cash - the ATM knows who you are, but he cant tell what you did with your cash.

I think KYC, Risk Warnings, Centralization is a good thing - so you end up with more reliable business partnerships

BTC ATM has no idea who you are. It might have a camera, but cameras are everywhere these days and snapping a pic is not the same as scanning your ID card.

There is no problem with KYC, the problem with KYC is only when it comes to crypto. Linking your identity to a wallet violates the fundamental principles of what crypto is all about. Lists of personal data linked to wallets will get stolen in data breaches or simply sold by brokers themselves, first to your government and then to everyone else. Honestly, it wouldn't even surprise me, if they already give away your wallet hash to your tax office, when filing a yearly report. Even if you trust your current government, leaders and policies can change rapidly and your crypto spending habits might bite you in the ass 10 years down the line. You can already lose a job or a business contract, because of what you tweeted years ago and you can be sure they'll use your buying decisions against you too. Unless you stay in line and kowtow.

Wow, that's little bit to negative for me.

With ATM was meant the real ATM that gives you cash, when you put some plastic in.

But here is my idea: The "fundamentals of crypto" are not set. The real problem is not an Exchange that's stores your privat information, but that Crypto can't be used at the moment. At the End you always change back to USD/EUR/X - that's the Problem. You can't pay your rent in BTC, not your grocery's or your Gasoline.

I'm sure that you live in a Tier-1 Country, because you argue like those having "problems with their gov".

I'm from Germany, highly regulated, with much rules and strict rules following country.

If the Tax Office want something, especially if you owe them something, they liquidate you faster than you can enter a plane. Those this make Germany a bad actor? No. Hell no. The Government is paying for a lot of public stuff (Schools, Police, Roads, ....) so it's fair to assume you have to pay your fair share. In Crypto they cannot liquidate you, even when they know you have the coins. Your Keys, your action is needed.

I left Germany, because the Tax burden wasn't worth it and I didn't feel treated the right way. So that's a decision you can make as well.

The fight against your Gov is BS. Every Tier-1 Nation has Problems, but Stfu - they work much better than most Nations. If you really have a problem with your Gov, the best you can do to hurt any business: Put your Money somewhere else (Move to another country.)

KYC is needed to spotlight the Scammers, Crooks and money launderers and gives a great regulated field for those that want to act in a fair manner. Also KYC enabled, reliable and trustworthy Companies bring some cash to the table and enable adoption of technology.
