Has anyone tried ClassicPress?
I know it is still relatively new and don't have much support but wondering on anyone's experience with this CMS fork

I have not tried it at all.

I always wondered what it was and I looked it up a bit more today.

They are describing it as a "Lightweight" fork of Wordpress 4.9
Its awesome, I shifted to it yesterday. A lot faster than WP, no Gutenberg (great for me, since I never use blocks anyway, I use pods and pod templates for 90% of my WP pages). Most WP plugins work on it. Would recommend.

When I did the migration the other day on my staging site, the crashed the entire site
Alot of my plugins I used weren't compatible.
I personally use blocks (from GP) :weep:
I am already achieving 95+ on my sites, would be nice to go even faster but not sure if it's worth sacrificing my setups either.

Yeah plugin compatibility is an issue, still. I guess I got lucky in that most of my plugins were compatible. BTW I'm only shifting to CP for PBNs, not for money sites, my money sites have too many existing plugins and settings that would be a nightmare to migrate.
Also, I didn't use the WP-> CP migrate plugin, I used WP export all to export all content databases to csv, then did a fresh CP install, and used WP import all. A bulk of my CMS uses Pods, which is CP-compatible, so all my templates were exported/imported using Pods migration.
Here's a useful list: https://forums.classicpress.net/t/must-have-plugins-list/1163

For me its as much about install bloat and having a lean setup as speed metrics tbh. I absolutely detest Gutenburg, probably because I spent a significant amount of time using the classic editor, and having to install a plugin to get my old settings back feels...so, so wrong :)

Would love to have a thread dedicated to Pods, btw, that plugin is so powerful, I use it to manage all my layouts, templates, silo structures etc.
