I'm a complete noob when it comes to youtube so figured I'd ask this question before wasting more time and money.

I found a country specific keyword in my language(not English). When I search for it, there are completely no videos with this keyword, only English videos show up in the top results.

So I made a video, did proper SEO etc., sent HR views to it but the video is not ranking for that country specific keyword.

Am I missing something? Shouldn't that video be ranking somewhere near the top for the exact search phrase in my language when there are no other videos ranking for it?

I've made two different videos but am getting the same result. Either it needs more time or I'm an idiot and it doesn't work this way?

Thanks in advance.

maybe this step hurts you

I've been using this panel for a while and it seems to be working fine on all other videos I put up in English.

Could it be because the views are coming from random country IPs and not my countries specific IP?

maybe.. because if the search word is correct, your video should appears even with 0 views.

Geolocation of views? Is it mostly from that country?

I sent random Geolocation but I mean shouldn't it still rank with completely 0 competition in the search results?

I had some experience with Sweden youtube. Keep in mind that a lot of factors decide which video will be ranked. Keywords are not the only thing out there. Is your channel completely based on that niche? Is that your first video on that language on that channel? Aged, or new account? Is competition in that niche?

Aged account, it's my first video on the entire channel, it seems like competition is pretty low for the keyword.

Top 5 videos in the search have low views but all of the videos are in English and there is not even 1 video in the top in my language.

I did read somewhere some useful information pertaining to your concern and I will share that here.
DISCLAIMER : For experts, the foll. information may not be useful, but the ONLY reason, I am sharing it is because OP has very clearly mentioned that he (or she) is "complete noob when it comes to youtube" and hence I am trying my best to help, so YouTube experts, kindly excuse me in this case.

You mentioned that you did the SEO part. OK, since it is a keyword thing, I hope you have covered the critical aspects to rank your video for that keyword, see below :-
Title, Description, Tags must all be optimized around the keyword.
One thing many people do not know and perhaps may not agree with is that Youtube transcribes every video on Youtube; therefore, if you include your keyword throughout the video, Youtube will more easily understand what the video is about and rank it higher.
TITLE : Be sure to include the keyword as far to the left as possible, because Youtube reads left to right as we do.
DESCRIPTION : Include variations of your keyword throughout the description
TAGS : When adding tags to your video, your first tag should be that target keyword. The rest of your tags should be variations of this keyword.

Well if that is your first video, give some time to the youtube algorithm to learn about your channel. Another thing, you need to earn that first spot, especially if that keyword has some serious traffic volume. Youtube will move you up once you have some decent watch-hours stats. Upload more content in that niche, it will push the whole channel. :)

Edit: Problem could be that you changed niche on that aged channel, let's say it was all about CBD videos before, and now you jump into Fitness niche.

Thank you for the info. I mean I’m already ranking some videos in English I just can’t understand why I can’t rank for a very long keyword in a different language. I did do the seo properly on my videos just like I do on my other ones.

Okay thanks. These are videos for a local business so I’m not going to be building out a channel for it. Also the channel is aged and never had content on it. I just supposed that if no one is ranking for a keyword, my video should be ranking there in first place. Guess I’ll give it a few more days to see what happens.

Well the video started ranking for the keywords. Why is it that every time I post a question here everything starts magically working in that moment or a day later? lol
