After this, I go back and flag the original uploaded video from different accounts as being adult and breaking youtube TOS. Youtube removes that video

Aside from the fact that tags have been useless for years, the adult content clip before nudity thing...never really worked. I did exactly that 15 years ago. You get strikes eventually and that is a big deal. Usually it is from other people who want to do the same thing, getting you off youtube so they can take your video with no competition. Never made much money either adult stuff gets views but doesn't convert.
I'd normally say "wd for trying" but this advice is so bad its potentially actively harmful.

Fair point. From a youtuber who made 100k doing this last year (me): the biggest secret I have is this: whenever you see content in your niche from another youtuber check out their subs and their typical views and when you find a video that massively outperforms make something like that. Note that 1k views for a guy with 5 subscribers is interesting, whereas a video with 100,000 views may actually be a flop if the channel has 5 million subscribers. The ratio between views and subscribers is what you are looking at not absolute views.
Do not copy content, you want a slight spin on the same theme, add "easy" or "fast" to how-to methods eg if the hit video you are taking inspiration from is "how to change a plug" make "how to change a plug the fastest, easiest way".
And yes this is obvious, but not so obvious that 99.9% of failed channels don't do it. It really defines who wins and who doesn't.

Confirming both points that 1. tags are useless and 2. cutting the SFW part of adult clips just earns you a strike. If there is no strike then you will barely have views, so there is no point to do it.
Did it about a year or so ago, so the case is the same as 15 years ago (where YT was basically a newborn so a totally different playground compared to now).
