I noticed its pretty easy to get karma on a new account

go to a passionate, "groupthink" kind of subreddit -- /r/conservative or /r/antiwork for example -- sort by "new" -- make top-level comments on every new post, agree with the post, drink the koolaid, say what people want to hear -- karma will be 1k+ in less than a day

reddit accounts with karma sell for good $$, there's gotta be people making a living doing this.

There's some marketplace where people selling Reddit accounts, you can easily farm them. Reddit account was popular a few months ago when crypto was booming.
