What type of links are you talking about High DA or Premium Backlinks

Yea, PR and backlink are important if you want to increase your DA. but i personally think that DA isn't really important. just focus on the content and your sites structure, when you get tons of traffic, then the DA will follow, cmiiw

From my experience, the best way to achieve this is by improving your own website, and by this, I mean that you need to check your performance score and see if something has to change. You should also pay attention to the content and try to include some keywords in it that you want to target. Also, for authority, it's important to have a decent amount of traffic on a monthly basis, so you could also think about the ways how to get more clicks on the site. Maybe you could try with some paid ads, or write more posts on social networks and forums.
 
Buy a gig on Fiverr to increase your DA. Or check on YouTube if you want to do it yourself. There are several videos.
 
Building back links will help to increase the DA. You will also need to consider another metric while building links - the spam score. Building poor links will increase your spam score which is not good for your site.
 
Question for the experts: I have some old domains which do have high rankings in DA. If I 301 them to new domains, would this pass over to the new domain?
If so then keeping them for a few bucks a year would be worth the money.

Reference for others: Influencer outreach is based sometimes on tools which display DA as a measurement of 'this is a partner you should pay for his expertise", so marketing people look for that metric.
