How to keep google voice number active

Hi, I have a google voice number that I purchased from a seller recently. Unfortunately I don't have regular usage and I came to know that if it's not in use for some days then the number gets deactivated.
I've paid a decent amount to purchase the number and don't want to lose it.
I would like to know if anyone is aware of how to keep the number active?

If i'm not mistaken, outgoing calls or messages are needed to keep the account active in every 9 months. Google sends a reminder to the belonging Gmail account before it deactivates the account.

Thanks, after you said the above I did some quick google research and came across the same answer. I hope this is the case but still if you or anyone is aware of any spam message service which can send me sms every day or atleast once a week.?

If you send someone a message or two every day with your Google Voice number, your Google Voice will be good for a long time, thanks

You won't lose it if you regularly communicate in both directions, both coming and going. You can ask your friends for the coming afternoon, and you can set an alarm yourself for the going afternoon.
