I do a clean shave, let it grow for about five days, and then repeat.

I shave every other day, the old school way; double edge safety razor, shaving cream, brush, and a good splash of old spice aftershave.
The ritual is par to none.

I only shave once my beard gets too itchy to live with. I try oil and stuff but doesn't seem to help. So maybe once every 8-12 months.

I haven't been clean shaven in years, at least 5 years. I use a beard trimmer once a week or so to take it down to a few mm. During lockdown I let it really grow along with my hair, I was full cave man for a while. My neighbour did the same, he also works in tech. My wife eventually managed to get me to cut it all off by threating to shave her head, we remained at deadlock for a while. I like her with long hair, she likes short, she likes me with short hair and beard and for a while at least I liked them long.

Clean shaven, where, I mean which part of the body are you referring to ? You've not mentioned that. I apologize, but being into digital marketing since 10+ years, I am habituated not to assume things and to be quite specific and precise. So, my specific and precise answer is, my face is always clean shaven, some other parts of the body are not always clean shaven. So, the real answer to "Do you always remain clean shaven ?", would be "Yes AND No".

Try an electric hair clipper instead, maybe not as clean but should help.
