One of my blogs receiving 30% of its traffic from Bing for some reason. Since most of us only concern about Google, it seems we have missed the potential of Bing.

What are the tactics you know in Bing SEO? Please share if you have any bookmarked threads or external related articles.

Did you make anything special to get that 30% from bing or just focused on general good SEO practices?

Bing copies everything from Google. While Google relies heavily on backlinks, Bing gives equal importance to social shares.

It was an accident. I tried to reverse engineer those articles and tried to find what is special about them, but couldn't.

Social shares can't be the cause for my blog. I haven't tracked social media sharing, but I don't even have any social media profiles for that blog.

I try to rank on Google. I rank one on Bing search for almost all keywords.
These keywords are longtail with good search volume (google).
So to answer you question
1) on page seo with long tail key word with enough search volume.
2) Bing must index the page.

The problem is HOW?
I purchased an EMD 1.5 years ago (february 2020) like "learn guitar lessons" (but obviously not this one), and it's been lingering on google's pages 5-8 for nearly an year (haven't built any strong backlinks to it, it also has too few d0f0llow backlinks compared to nofollow, and it also has "thin" content, so I don't see it ranking on google's page 1 anytime soon), but it's been ranking on bing on #1 for the EMD keyword for nearly an year now. And I get ZERO traffic per month from it, but that's probably because the total searches per month for all informational keywords in this niche is less than 10,000, so I assume that's the reason for the lack of traffic.

But EMD is how you rank on bing (and probably a few backlinks, too, I don't know)

I've not focused too much on SEO for Bing, all of my efforts go to Google.

However, I know that people use Bing. Think of all the elderly people (or less computer literate) with a windows device or mobile that has the default search engine as Bing. Highley likely that they won't change this so they'll be searching for whatever using Bing.

I'll definitely look into it further down the line. I find that for some keywords I rank pretty well in Bing, but for others where I do well in Google they're just buried pages away.

I use Bing ads though, not as much revenue as what Adwords brings in but a similar ROI.
