Many of the pro bloggers in my country who dominated Google in 2010 or so have left this work and doing other work. They are replaced by new generation of bloggers who are smart enough to fight frequent google updates. Survival of the fittest being implemented in SEO also over these years.

It has always been like this. Only those will survive who adapt to frequent changes from Google.

What work are they doing now?

Any defunct blogs running under new ownership?

No need to be worried about updates if you're providing quality content and not chucking spammy links at the site.

Kind of always being the case SEO leave often when things get hard or complex knew many who left the best one I knew of who left was a guy who had a system which would click Adsense codes on websites but pretend to be unique persons since come from different IPs often he was making before Google banned his account like $100,000 sales per month.

$100000 per month is really huge.

Yes, you will make less per month but be safe for years.

It has always been the case since the start OP it is really the survival of the fittest

It's why the best advice you can give a new blogger is to stay consistent and don't stop, it's how you get an advantage in this industry. While others try and give up, you are still here, plugging away.

Keep writing great content that your userbase wants to read. Thats what Google rewards nowadays.
