No they don't.
Turn the auto renew off and transfer to namecheap before expiry , I thought you guys already knew this.
They manually approved my transaction though.

That is "normal practice" I think for domains with low price for registration.
So if someone needs domain for 1 year only that could be a good option.

Migrating the domain to Namecheap after a few months is a good way to get around.

But isn't that a daylight robbery?

yea name cheap always have deals, like last month they had a transfer deal.
Nearly all these smaller registrars (heck even big one like godaddy) are daylight robbery.
I remember I use to do $10/yr hosting + free domain on godaddy while making 5 more accounts for $1 domains.
Then just before each year is up, make a new account and get another $10/yr hosting and transfer it all over
Meanwhile, i transferred my domains out if they aint burnt to namecheap

that domain registrar does sound familiar tho.
I have a feeling it's the one that is a freaking pain to set DNS and 301s redirects

I understand for me no problems overall or I make a friend inside the business if the need comes then they make things good for me normally.

I think they do 5$ deals now. I got many from Porkbun last year for 4$ but didn't transfer anywhere. Seems like Porkbun isn't into daylight robbery and charges me around 9$ for .com renewal per domain which is great anyway. Namecheap and Porkbun have been good so far for me.
