This is not anti vaxx or pro vaxx post. I don't care about your vaccination status and you shouldn't be concerned with mine and label me things. I am pro information and sharing details of how Pfizer has structured their contracts with governments around the world. I've read articles describing this in the past but now see this video that summarizes a lot of information. Most news praise Pfizer and would never publish any bad story about them. Same Pfizer that is also planning to release twice daily Covid pill. They want to get everyone hooked on their drugs and if any lawsuits local governments to pay compensation and put up governments assets as collateral.

This post is only about what Pfizer is doing and nothing else, please do not change the subject and start flame wars about other subjects. You can find how vaccine contract is worded in your country and if there are similar clauses added.

Pfizer is holding governments to ransom

Copy Paste from article that summarizes some of what Pfizer has done in South & Latin America but it also has contracts with similar demands across the world.

While countries like India are sending free vaccines to poorer nations, there are companies like Pfizer which are bullying governments. The US-based company Pfizer is holding governments to ransom, interfering with their legislation, and even demanding military bases as guarantee.

Pfizer has vaccine deals with 9 latin American and Caribbean countries - Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and Yurug-waae. Two major latin American nations are missing from this list are Argentina and Brazil.

What happened in Argentina?

Talks between Argentina and Pfizer began in June 2020. In July, President Alberto Fernandez held a meeting with Pfizer's Argentina CEO.

Then, Pfizer asked to be compensated for the cost of any future civil lawsuits. If someone files a civil lawsuit against Pfizer in Argentina and wins that case, the government of Argentina and not Pfizer would pay the compensation. So, Argentina's parliament passed a new law in October 2020, but Pfizer was unhappy with its phrasing. The law said Pfizer needs to at least pay for negligence, for its own mistakes if it happens to make any in the future.

Pfizer rejected this, after which Argentina offered to amend the law to define negligence more clearly - to include only vaccine distribution and delivery under negligence.

Pfizer was still not happy and demanded the law be amended through a new decree, which Argentina refused. Pfizer then asked Argentina to buy an international insurance to pay for potential future cases against Pfizer, to which the country agreed.

In December 2020, Pfizer came back with more demands, and demanded sovereign assets as collateral. Pfizer wanted Argentina to put its bank reserves, military bases and embassy buildings at stake. Vaccine manufacturers have always enjoyed a certain amount of liability waiver. Say you receive a vaccine from Pfizer and then you have adverse effects because of the jab.

You can always go ahead and file a lawsuit against Pfizer. If you win that lawsuit - instead of Pfizer, the government will compensate you. This is normal. In the United States for example, the PREP Act (Public Readiness and Emergency Preparedness act) gives total immunity to companies like Pfizer and Moderna.

But only if something goes wrong unintentionally, and this does not apply to negligence. But Pfizer wanted more - Not just sovereign assets but a fraud insurance, something with which Argentina did not agree with.

What happened in Brazil?

Pfizer went a step ahead and asked Brazil to create a guarantee fund, and deposit money in a foreign bank account.

On January 23, 2021 - Brazil’s Health Ministry put out a statement citing excerpts from Pfizer’s pre-contract clauses.

Here’s a list of Pfizer's demands - Brazil waives the sovereignty of its assets abroad in favour of Pfizer, that the rules of the land - be not applied on Pfizer, that Brazil take into consideration a delay in delivery, that Pfizer is not penalised for a delayed delivery, and that in case of any side effects, Pfizer be exempted from all civil liability.

The government of Brazil calls these clauses abusive. The Pfizer deal with Brazil failed too.

Does not really surprise me drug companies being doing these things for years even a little Medical firm can make more than some countries.
I was about say this exactly.
This has been going for years and just because of the covid situation this is being covered actively by most of the TRANSPARENT media across the globe.

Just leave pharma companies aside, there are big organizations that target poor nations governments in exchange for subsidized supplies.
And there is the father of corona with his debt trap policy targeting small and economically weak countries.
All this has been going around for decades.

I would agree I had a friend before who was Dr he would get paid crazy money to promote any drugs from one of these companies such as like extra £100,000 every year for every drug he recommends plus decent shares in the company so even if he got sacked his shares alone keep him in decent lifestyle forever more less.

It becomes almost a waste of time sharing this stuff. Most people won't be convinced. They think that this is all perfectly normal and acceptable and that the world is a lovely caring place. They don't want to break that reality. They want to watch netflix, go on holiday, go to the pub, watch some reality tv, have a beer, order a pizza.. They don't want to face any of this.

What's wrong with doing that? pizza is good.

Can you and I change anything that's happening between Argentina and Pfizer? We are nobody.
What's the point of worrying shit about fuck. Get the vaccine or don't. Wear a mask or don't.

Get that pizza, put on a show on Netflix, have a beer and chill :D

Except none of that makes any sense.

All biotech and drug contracts are like that. The covid ones aren't different.

If you people are against this, then you should stop eating and drinking anything at all. Don't go near chicken, coke, pizza, burgers, fries, saturated fats, etc.

Every single fertilizer contract on the corn you eat, meats, potatoes, grains, everything contains chemicals that you would never go near if you read their fine print.

So if you people are radically against the only solution to the pandemic, then you should stop eating all processed foods and stop using all other medications as well. You should also never go to a hospital again, because thefirst thing you do at a hospital is sign waivers. They cannot be held responsible for anything unless it's gross negligence. For all issues, like allergic reactions, sudden death and so on, they can't be held liable.

Now, knowing that this is the case, then why are people still against the only thing that can solve the pandemic??

You eat poison all day and now you take issue with a vaccine that is safer than eating a street hotdog? Why? Makes zero sense.

Well to be honest Pizza is okay I guess but it's got no patch on what Indians make such as Buttery Chicken or Rasams among other options better than Pizzas, for example, I had for dinner Poppadam+Rasam+Indian egg rice way nicer than any Pizza by far.

Ah yes, the propaganda bot that only posts in COVID threads.

Ah yes , the bot that keeps attacking me instead of my ideas .

Add something to the discussion for once instead of attacking others you disagree with .

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use so many logical fallacies in the same argument at the same time. It's unbelievable. I don't even know where to start.

You are literally just spouting words that have no logical meaning or connection to anything anyone is saying.

And to top it all off you add in a "you people".

You are just making things up now saying it's "safer than eating a hotdog". There is zero, literally zero scientific backing for that statement.

It's like you literally ignore all evidence in contradiction to your own personal beliefs. I've never seen anything like it. You are so opposed to anyone with a different view than yours. You spend your entire day hammering people who have a different view.

Do you really believe you are the supreme intelligence with all the answers? It's ridiculous, seriously.

"saturated fats". For the love of god. I'm not even going to bother saying anything, because you are so closed minded and I don't know if it's a lack of ability to understand and process information, a lack of motivation to attempt to understand, or you are just a giant troll.

As an individual, no, but that apathy towards the world is how freedom is lost.

When people give up their freedoms so they can go on holiday and go clubbing.

i think its fine (and correct) to draw a distinction. vaccines are good. pharmaceutical companies are predatory. both of these are true.
on the topic of Argentina, i would take that one with a grain of salt. our politicians are known to accept almost anything as long as you slide a benjamin under the table, so its difficult to know which side was at fault for those fallouts in negotiation. its perfectly possible they asked for bribery in exchange of accepting their terms, and they didn't want to be entangled within when there was so many other potential clients.

There's an asymmetry going on here .

If you're not vaccinated you can become vaccinated .

If you're vaccinated you CAN'T become unvaccinated again .

Once you're vaccinated you're "converted" . You're now a believer .

It will be very hard to admit that you made a mistake . The psychological burden would be too big .

This is why such close-mindedness (like @bartosimpsonio) is so common in the vaccinated .

Usually , instead of responding to your arguments , they'll attack you , call you crazy , "anti-vaxxer" , "troll" etc (like @RushingWind , @andyframpton )

They don't want to convince you that they're right . They only want to convince themselves that you're wrong , to maintain their peace of mind .
