Ideas To Gain Trust?

I have worked in a sales company and I can agree with the statement from "Wolf of Wall Street" -movie - "Only reason why the customer doesn't buy from you is that he doesn't trust you". It is easy to gain trust f2f or over the phone, just spend time with customers and make them to like you.

How can I make customers trust me with a new website which has no reviews? One way is to add live chat support, but in the beginning, I just don't want to invest in that because there is no enough traffic. Also, my budget doesn't allow me to add a lot of content. What other ways do you think I can do to earn trust?

In depends on your style and your niche.

If you sell snakeoil you will say anything to gain client trust.

On the other hand if you offer a genuine service/product there are a few way to approach this.
One is related to 'how you buy' online. You will notice you are choosing to attribute trust to certain sites based on image, content, etc. If you are noticing this, you will realize it is easy to offer the same type of selling that you buy.... what did I just said here? )
Another way is to replicate what your competitors do. And try to improve that if needed or add a unique angle.

For example for review affiliate sites you will notice the conversation will improve if you have a few ingredients like:
mention both cons and pros; adding any negative aspect will help you decrease possible refunds (from high expectations) and it also builds trust
compare multiple products/reviews; basically here you target different people with each one

You can also go get some free plr items and offer them for free, and all they need to do is provide email for it. You can also just repurpose and/have a Fiverr person redesign other free content from competitors (quotes, PDFs, etc) and offer them daily on your socials or site. Free usually equals trust.

Maybe some additional information. My site is an affiliate website, travel search engine. I know some basic stuff like making blog posts, videos, email marketing etc content creation. My biggest limitation is the lack of budget, I can't create as much content as competitors.

I have thought of giving away some free stuff, but what (for the travel niche)? Free ebook about "how to pack for travel" or something like "top 10 strategies how to eat with chopsticks in China" sounds so meh, nobody really doesn't want this kind of stuff.

I am addressing particularly only the above : No reviews ? Buy reviews ... simple ... even the big companies buy reviews. Just buy it from a reliable provider, so that the reviews stay and each review appears real.

You need 2 things no matter how good looking or engaging you site is, social proof and
Work experience displayed.

You have to show value - as quickly as possibly.

Everyone is afraid of risk and so you have to provide something of immediate value to them quickly with no investment on their side.

One way to do this is to offer advice - if you sell chairs to restaurants, google the inside of their store and look at the condition of their chairs. Come up with 3 ways your chairs are better than what they have.

Now call them up and immediately offer 3 ways they can improve their revenue/experience/whatever other benefit you give them - tell them about what their store already has, then tell them how they can improve it and then introduce your product.

You'll build trust because you showed them you understood what their situation is, you then told them how and why they could benefit and (hopefully) explained what your product can do for them.

It's not a guaranteed sale - but you will have at least started a conversation where they either tell you to continue or they tell you to buzz off.

If it's the latter, you haven't nailed what the true benefits are of your product and you need to workshop that more.

A new website that has no reviews. Where does it have no reviews? If on the website itself, then write them yourself. If on some other site, then buy some.

Fake it till you make it dude.

And theres nothing sinister about this. If youre a piece of shit and provide a shit service and scam people, youll get to fool a few suckers but ultimately youll go nowhere.

But if youre cool and you provide a quality service, then your "fake" reviews will do your potential clients a favor if they help them make the decision to buy from you.

I have thought about that already, and I found a very big weakness in two of my main competitors, they have very terrible reviews on TrustPilot.

Thank you for your great advice guys. I totally agree that social proof is the key to this. I read yesterday's story of TripAdvisor and their success is based mostly on customer reviews. I have found lately very cheap virtual assistant who I can hire. I came up with an idea that I can hire "travel experts" to give travel tips and information to my customers through live chat and email. Those reviews that I mentioned in the last messages were all about canceled flights, stole money etc, they weren't actually my competitor's fault because they are just travel search engines and what happens with booking sites is out of their control. I have the possibility to have a "white label" search engine site. That means when customer books a flight, he/she stays on my site, not directing to the original booking service. I thought that's a good idea, but after reading those reviews I changed my mind. I want the customer's to know they are NOT booking flights and travels with us, we are just an "information site" that directs them to the original site and they make a deal with them, not with us.

Another idea to help customers is to post a disclaimer that says all of that, we are just a search engine. How about if I also tell them if they have some problem with the booking site, I will offer them additional help to solve that problem with that booking site? From my point of view, this could be something that will help a LOT to gain trust.

Generally, I think with a new site, the fastest and easiest way to gain trust is by getting active on many different social media platforms and interact with people as much as possible.
