[ASK] Selling on OpenSea NFT

Hi,

I uploaded some designs into OpenSea and wanted to sell them, it says there on their listing page that selling is free, only commission taken by them when sale is made.

But then there’s a charge about $150-$200, what is this charge for?

How many more times would we be charged again like this? Let’s say we have 10 designs to sell from 2 different collections

Looking for some guidance from someone who have done it before, thanks.

You only pay once, those are the gas fees. Once you done that you don't have to pay anymore.

Unless you use a new wallet again, but same wallet only once the fees + Opensea takes 2.5% when you sell something.

Thanks, there’s some contradicting information I found on their help page as well as on some other sources that will require 2-3 times confirmation of this gas fee so I just had to confirm first before I proceed

I have tried opensea and got similar fees as well... so I think that's expected. However, I think there is a hack to this. You probably need to first create the nft on a cheaper blockchain, and then import it to opensea. That way you pay pretty much nothing. I have not tried the method yet though.

thank you for the insight and confirmation, I will start once I have some eth in my wallet, meanwhile I’ll just upload designs first.

since you say you already tried it, can I ask you a question.

say you made a design and uploaded it there, what happen if somebody else copy your design and upload it to the blockchain, it will reject as it is a duplicate? Or it does nothing?

you can also try to sell it on solana. solanart is buggy but works, and solsea.io releases tomorrow, maybe in a week you can try it.

There’s not much you can do. That said, you are not giving away the “high quality” version of the art to anyone, except for the new owner. If the new owner distributes the high quality version to everyone, the art loses value as well… so, I don’t think he will do that.

You guys do realize that at some point in the future, when people will have some type of tablets displaying the NFT that they have bought hanging on the walls - many of these NFT creators will become the modern-day Picassos, Van Goghs and Da Vincis. Just think about it, that's realistic.

Probably for minting them if you did on eth network
