Sad Newbie, Needs Help

Site 1 (32 posts my main grind): Ignore all clicks

Site 2 (15 posts side grind): Ignore Earlier Clicks (7/23 and back)

So what's going here?


I've done the same keyword research and writing for both sites. I think that site 1's domain is causing issues maybe I am in the sandbox?

The second site has a beautiful domain from nargil, so it's just popped off, the other one is just an expired domain I scraped that seems clean to me


Should I just wait more time for the first site to start gaining traction because right now it's in like a fugue state keep wishy washing around
(also some of the articles I copied from one of my other blogs and took them off that blog and put them onto this blog, so maybe plagiarism penalty for now?)


Is this what the google sandbox looks like? What causes this stagnation

Difficult to answer without seeing the site, nor the kws, but let's see ....

How do you see the serp for your kws, are there forums, social networks, etc on the front page?

Do the sites respond to the kws in question?

How long (on average) have the older articles been posted?

Site 2's Articles are probably a month older.

Some KWs have forums ranking top 10, some don't.

So the site is only 2-3 months old? It's too early. Just keep building and focus on one. See where you are at in another 3 to 4 months.

Yeah, the only way I know to rank a site without spending money is through hard work. If you have done some keyword research, your content is useful for readers, and not in a difficult niche it will rank eventually.

A site I started at the end of last year is just ranking now. Just last week Google decided to rank an article I published 8 months ago.

Hi, you are probably in the sandbox. The average duration is about six months but can even reach a year. Keep posting good content.

That click volume is definitely disheartening, but the good news is you're not alone—you have to start somewhere if you just started a website.

How long have you put up the site? How many pieces of content do you have?

Also, which keywords are you targeting?

If I were you, I would reverse-engineer my competitors and look for keywords that their content is ranking for.

Then, filter those keywords based on monthly search volume and keyword difficulty.

What you want to do is to target keywords that you've researched by reverse-engineering your competitors’ sites that have a decent amount of monthly volume but have low keyword difficulty ratings.

Start with these, and you are more likely to bounce out of the Google sandbox sooner rather than later.

But if you're just randomly coming up with content focusing on keywords or topics that you just made up, or you're just taking wild guesses, it’s really impossible to know when you'll get out of the sandbox.

Focus on low competition and, as much as possible, use content optimization tools like Surfer SEO to thoroughly nail those keywords.

I read a few journeys and they suggested taking some of the better performing keywords from competitors. I've been working on doing it

How many words are your posts?
Have you considered LONG FORM CONTENT?

Interesting yes all my posts are at least 1,000 words. I try to make them a long as I can but would say they average at 1,500.
I'll try to up my averages to around 2,000. I am lazy when it comes to word count. Thank you for the reminder

Your not going to magically get clicks for crappy articles on a 15 page site. You have to put in a ton of work to make it succesful.

I'd personally check out the pages your competing against and make sure you're including everything they write about and more - beat their content in every way you possibly can.

Also, if budget allows, maybe start building some links too.

Yeah, the hardest part is starting and staying motivated. But when you see progress and results, it definitely spurs you on

With SEO you need time and patience, usually a blog takes a year to gain traction and get ranked especially with competition... you need more articles as only 10% will really generate 90% of traffic.
