I have several fake profiles with random people, it is boring and not interesting to know about random people's lives, so I spend 5 minutes playing and not logging into facebook for days

if your friends, family etc go to VK, you will too

Facebook in 2021 appeals mainly to boomers. Young people use woke platforms like IG, Twitter, TikTok.

What makes it addictive is simple.
It's a drug. Actions are being rewarded with dopamine. The action is scrolling. The reward comes from the joy we experience when seeing something fun for example. Just like most drugs, this one also leads to damage.
Mainly psychologically though.

Watch the Netflix movie "The Social Dilemma". It's gonna make your way into understanding easier.

in general, they care more about the lives of friends, family, co-workers, and gossip about people they know

younger people may use it to make new friends and see funny posts from random people, but they are not the majority of Facebook users

personally I am 24 years old and think it is boring to use a facebook profile with only random people as friends

i have 105 friends, 70+ them are women.. they are all beautiful i only use fb 30/40 minutes per day, just to make sure they are not feeling alone.
