I think google couldn't tell if the traffic was fake or legit. I know that it's a bold claim but I stand by it. Think about it: if you give your URL to someone with millions of facebook followers and that person posts your link to those followers for a whole month, how is google going to know that this is "fake" traffic instead of real traffic? No matter how big and powerful they are they simply can't tell if this traffic is fake or real because it's real lol. And the same with pinterest. Not sure how organic traffic from google has worked, but I'm glad that it did and I'm not interested in finding out the details

bounce rate is not that important. It is a ranking factor, yes, but not as important as some might think. If that was the case, the fake traffic would have not improved my rankings

This is actually false. You use search bots to boost you into the top rankings and then once you stop using the bots, real organic traffic will keep you at the top of the rankings

LOL you must be joking. You there are hundred of other sources for traffic besides Google themselves. Other search engines, forums, oh yeah a few big sites called Facebook, Twitter, and others. Google will know your site is getting legit traffic when you using GA
