Yeah ive used proton. Still doesn't fix vr though. I can get it to run but it's so choppy i instantly feel like im about to die. Supposedly oculus works better than vive, but i don't and wont get one (facebook)

Microsoft is no longer supporting windows 7 and it haven't received any security updates in more than a year you might want to move to a newer version for security.

I use it because the tools I use are only made for Windows. I was tempted to switch many times but so far I am not impressed with user-friendliness of virtualization technology and seamless integration of several OS's into same windowed workspace still got ways to go, but we are close. Tried dual boot, got no patience for it. I do use WSL and still got MSYS2 installed.

I can’t really say that I don’t use Windows. I’m forced to use it at work. But honestly, I don’t like it. With the number of times it has just rebooted on me whilst I’m trying to keep up with a deadline, has me on pins.
Honestly, I don’t trust this OS at all. It always fails when I need it the most.
This was my experience with Win 98, XP, and even the so called fabulous 7.
As far as Win 10 is concerned, it has been big improvement. However I still don’t trust it; especially after seeing how a reliable OS like MacOS and Linux distros perform.
I’m a firm believer in the superiority of a POSIX style OS.
