So I am just wondering if there is a perfect way to craft an onboarding email for a cold email list so I don't get so many unsubscribes

I think it's good to send your first email explaining to your market, the problem you see and want to solve.

That way only those with a burning problem will remain because they will want to know more about the problem and solution you're trying to explain.

Sounds like a plan, thank you

Dont worry about unsubscribes man. I deffo used to but no longer.

Your goal is to sell. Focus on that.

If you're already selling then make your focus how to sell a better % of your list.

Putting attention on lowering unsubs vs. increasing sales is akin to a well-known saying in poker:

"Play to win. Don't play to not lose"

Play to win. Don't play to not lose
Lol...Why do I feel like this saying is something I need to keep in mind for every facet of life

I think that in each particular case recipient or recipient's anti-spam decides if that is a cold email or not.
Just think about this from your end and decide which type of content for you will be acceptable and than use that.
