So lets say I have an email list of 50,000 people who have significant relevancy to a product or company. These are the most relevant people to have involved in a facebook group or a fan of a facebook page. If I've got an email list of people that I know respond well to my company, how do I convert them into members of a group, fans of a page, etc?

Ideally, I'd have them uploaded to something where I can keep them "engaged", purchasing or at least thinking about us on a regular basis. Now what's the best way to convert the email list into people who will join a group, etc. Lets assume for a second that half of the email addresses are facebook users also... let me know your thoughts. Is group the way to go or is page? Also, one of the big benefits to having these people as a member of a group or page, aside from the ability to send them things that may convert up front, is it gives me the ability to 'remarket' to them while they're browsing facebook by specifically targeting them with CPC or CPM ads.

1. Add them as friend
2. Invite them to Group/Page

I appreciate the input, but adding that many friends doesn't seem feasible, particularly when i only have email addresses for these people. That may work for hundreds, but what about thousands upon thousands. These people will respond and say yes, I just need a way to get them all invites to the group or suggestions for the page.

Add contacts to your gmail account and then import them to facebook :)

Can you tell us how to get such an email list? I know there are programs that can create list of valid email addresses but all of them are paid - have you bought one of them or do u have some nice crack?

there really is not a magic way of converting them automatically.

Your best bet is to email them all and asking them to Join your Facebook Fan Page. Maybe give them some sort of discount or promise that you will randomly select couple people to get your product for free :)

The mechanics of doing it are standard. Stay under the limits.
If no group created, create one. (Fan Pages only allow 2000 per day per page?).
Use invite friends feature for the group. I've sent up to 7000 a day for 10 days, but don't do that many. Skip a day.
Some people on the list may be facebook members already, so they will be kicked out of the process. You can invite them to be friends on your profile page first, and then you can ask them to join the group.
