Travel Blog Niche Idea

Long-time SEO freelancer here, in the form of writing, topic creation, and editing for a major SEO company. I've never ventured far outside my routine of pulling from a work queue, submitting, and getting paid on a per-order basis each week. But, I'm looking to bust out of this cycle with a new car and a goal to become 100% independent.

I want to take my basic knowledge of keyword research, readability, and backlinking and apply it to my own travel blog. I know there are a million blogs out there, but I don't see much out there in the way of city-targetted posts that investigate and review the state of non-Tesla EV charging accessibility. I just got my first car, a Chevy Volt, so it immediately became apparent to me that finding charging plugs without owning a home is an expensive and inconvenient endeavour. Ironically, the government is gesturing towards more electric vehicles in the *distant* future.

So, my purpose of this post here is to basically ask for any tips, advice, or predictions on whether this blog niche can be lucrative enough to eventually transition away from my current job. I figure I would be filming Vlogs already and uploading them to YouTube, as I do this nomad freelancer thing, so why not take a jab at some targeted SEO content?

Are there any other blogs in that niche?
If there are, that is a good indicator that there
is demand in that area. If there are no other blogs
or YouTube channels in that area, you might want to
think more as to whether this would be a lucrative venture
to get into.

Yes I think a good idea. Travel by electric car niche.

Not just charging access though that is critical. Especially planning a weekend getaway you need to map out and strategize charging.

But also just the fun of traveling by car with the E twist.

A YouTube channel would also be key for this.

You can absolutely earn a good income from the travel niche. People may say it's saturated, but there is always things people haven't written about. I say go for it.

If you know how to do research well then you can go after any niche I guess cause lots of stuff is still not written and lots of new queries are being made everyday.

Trying to do something with a travel related blog as well.
But I'm a noob.
How do you monetize that stuff ? I'm trying to sell travel guides in the form of PDFs but no one's buying.

Now that may be related to the fact that only 20 assholes clicked on my gumroad link.

Travel industry was hit tremendously by the pandemic but I do not see travel blogging or vlogging dying anytime soon. Congratulations in advance! Try contacting your favorite brands in the same niche if they are interested in working with you. There is a huge business around your passion. Make the most out of it. Good luck buddy!

Youtube is a good one. Travel industry is best option to chose especially Electric car. In future, It plays much role.
Taking in advance, Will surely help you to get more audience and pay a way to growth your knowledge which leads to success.
