keywordkeyword.net

or

keyword-keyword.com

just curious whether either makes a difference :twitch:.

hard to tell, i think not much difference.
might be easier for user to type keywordkeyword.net but most people remember only the keyword and will type keywordkeyword.com :) for search engines no difference i think. I would go for .net

definately kw1kw2.net should be the 1st choice,if its not available then go for the later 1.

some ppl are skeptical about kw1-kw2.net.but google see "-" as a stop word..so its same for search engines..though you can expect less type in traffic with "-".

thats what I thought... thanks for your help

I think Matt Cutts once said that the dash is something like a separator for G, so if it's kw1-kw2, G will see it like kw1 kw2; but if it's kw1kw2 G will see it like kw1kw2.

But, in my opinion, that's rubbish. Now, I'm not saying Matt is wrong, I'm just saying it was probably an old video I watched.

Because, when I search for something, like, say, automobiles, one of the results that comes out is .automobilemag.com, and, as you can see, automobile is bolded, which means the SE understood it was part of the KW.

So, in my opinion, in terms of SE's, it doesn't matter. In terms of brandability and ease of remembrance, definitely go for kw1kw2.

But, if you're doing an autoblog, it doesn't really matter.

Personally I wouldn't go for either...I am not an expert but have never seen keywordkeyword domains on search results.

Oh, you haven't? I have seen kw1kw2kw3; Example - pentagoncarsales.com

Matt Cutts talks about the hyphen not being "bad" in terms of google indexing etc - but those comments were made on his blog in 2006 so who knows if it has changed. I would say go with the net.

If you want a better ranking in google, then go with the hyphen. If you want better direct traffic from people actually putting in their browser manually go with KwKw.net

..Right, I see what you mean. I thought it was as in dogtrainingdogtraining.com which I must admit I have seen but never often in the first results on the serps.

In my opinion it has a lot to do with how you plan on marketing said site. If you're going to direct link it, via email, ppc, then it wont matter much. Since you're asking about SEO I would assume you're looking to setup a longer term site that's memorable, so make sure you're not competing with k1k2.com with your .net site, or you'll lose portions of your traffic to them.

I've ran into the hyphen situation a few times with a few different sites, I've always ended up using 1 keyword with something catchy and memorable as the other section of the domain, and can still rank with both keywords in the SERP (depending on content and backlinks).

If your desired domain name is taken and you absolutely need to have the .com keyword domain, try this:

Keyword: mortgage loans

Desired domain is taken such as: mortgageloans.com
Try one of these: onlinemortgageloans.com or mortgageloansonline.com or easymortgageloans.com

You'll rank just as well even with the extra word(s).

There is no different in terms of SEO. But i will go for the .com if i got the choice.

you could always make the hyphen very noticable in the site's logo

Black - Hat.com

I would prefer .net

However it sometimes does depend

I would prefer Ice-Cream.com over IceCream.net

But doesn't really matter either way i love Ice Cream :icecream1 :icecream1 :icecream1
