Mechanical or Membrane Keyboard

Does it matter to you?

My mechanical keyboard Corsair K70 is pretty much dead (after ~1 years), and I need to get a new one.

Can't get a warranty on it for some reason, the site I brought it off disabled my account so I can't retrieve the invoice zzz

What's your recommendations, I type alot, lots of typing.

I don't care as much for gaming, only thing I need is a multimedia buttons.

I'm ok with membranes keyboards too, for me, honestly, I make more spelling mistakes using a mechanical keyboard

I would buy better headphones this time and save up some.

I use only membrane keyboards because it's less noise and it doesn't require to press so hard.
I bought gaming membrane keyboard because of flashy lights. $30.

Why would you trust Razer or Corsair if you are an adult? That's crazy s*it.

What is wrong with razer and corsair?

I have tried razer products in the past and I didn't like it, and that was it.

I don't follow these gaming brand religiously.

I hate lights on my keyboards, I'm not looking at it, I don't need it on, a keyboard's purpose is to use to type and that's all I need it to do.

It's all wrong. It's even worse than Apple. It's just bad. It's more marketing than value. This is something a real marketing practitioner shall understand.
There is nothing wrong with going to the store and trying different pieces in practice.

I have razer huntsman. It has been more than 8 months. No Problem. I type a lot, I game a lot.

In case you don't want RGB one's try TVS Gold. Hope you find one. That's the best one. Or try buying Ducky's keyboard. They are considered as the best in market.

I suppose you are playing games more than writing.

I'm not hating. I'm speaking from practice. The piece wasn't worth it. You realize what they sell once you buy SteelSeries.

I (personally) prefer mechanical keyboards for typing, but hate noise. Even if it's not for the neighbours or whatever, the noise from a mechanical keyboard is something else you're adding to your work/computer environment which you might not want anymore, especially now you've gotten a chance to replace your keyboard with anything you so desire.

Membrane keyboards are nice to type on and it feels great to do so, IMO.
Especially because you don't need a keyboard for gaming, membrane is a serious option to consider!

It only lasted a year? My mech keyboards last 3 to 4 years on average.

What I've been doing lately is going for entry level logitechs. They're great kbs and last forever, even the cheapest ones.

Yeah my dog kinda rekt it.
It's alright, to be fair, I was looking at the entry level logitechs since I dont need any fancy stuff, just a solid sb for typing.
I used the logitech k120 in my office at work for years and it was just fine. I might just get that honestly.

These are our tools for the trade. If I can increase my productivity with a new keyboard by 0.5%, then I'm in profit.

And if branding & marketing has taken over some big brands, it's not our fault...
