Hi, I have a competitor in my niche focusing over the similar keyword as well as mine I checked his website in Ahrefs and found out he had very high domain level stats DR 57 UR 50 but when I checked his backlinks I found out that it was the something related to redirection from google as very similar thing was also shared in here so just wanted to ask Should I do this or not and if yes then how to do it and what are the long term effects because competitior is getting around 20K traffic just by thousand of redirected backlinks from google and other websites just want to know what this thing is, pls refer screenshots and let me know Thanks!

But there are thousands of links like these are they helping that site or just increasing the stats
No, the Google-redirects just push stats and doesn't help with ranking in Google.

check his other links, which aren't just redirects, i.e. the cnn.com

1. Google redirects does nothing to help ranking. Just boosts DR.

2. Is the CNN link direct or redirect?

No The CNN links comes from articles and most of them goes to unrelated random domains which are then redirected to main domain is this guys having a very great strategy then I am doomed to fail :weep:

Just because he has such links doesn't mean they're the ones responsible for the ranking,
It's common & completely normal to authority websites to have a huge percentage of spam links,
If you really want to rank, you should focus on getting HQ contextual links, ignore the trash

I will give you a tip I can't reveal full story with it since under agreement between me and a Slavic person.

Do these links work ?Yes they can do but they are often kind of risky you could, for example, say your site makes for example purposes today"$25" sales per day if you attach right kind done properly then you could be making extra $100 per day"

Some people do the redirections a high amount kind of like demented sort of person so because of that if Google ever does inspection you can in some cases find out your site got disindexed I have seen happen a few times.

If you do it semi wrong give you at best just like DR boost or so.

For a start, it would take you to contact relevant niche-related websites for exchange of links.

Cheers,
Commoner

When I checked the sites that have recently risen in rank, there have a lot of redirection links.

Google redirect is BS for going up. I can be beaten even with a direct link on CNN, I had a the same situation with a competitor few years back. After few months he was pushed down on page 2

I would have a look at the 26 cnn.com backlinks
They are all pointing towards to a different domain and then redirected to this one my competitor has a lot a lot of redirected links

I won’t go for this type of SEO personally, I also doubt that they give this site any boost in ranking tho

No reason to unless you were going to pump up your metrics to sell guest posts.

@Aadya - ignore those redirects. How are you addressing user intentions compared to this competitor?

just dont be creating competing articles. don't have 2 articles about "best red apple". google will get confused and you will most likely not make it to the top position.
