Where to link to on a webshop

Hi

I am doing SEO for webshops. When i make backlinks i always link to the product category pages that i want to rank on google. The overall goal is to rank all the content and products on the site. My question is that should i link to my homepage sometimes? Would that efficiently pass on the link juice?

Hey Monymony, just want to tell you that you are partially right it is good to do so sometimes, but not every time as the homepage already has so many referring domains the main goal of you is to et targeted on your subpages. so, you can follow this strategy but not every time. Rest I would like to give you some tips related to making quality backlinks:

here are some of the link building methods that you should ignore:

Avoid taking site-wide link from footer (WordPress themes or plugins)
Avoid purchasing the exact anchor text link (Keep a proportion of 40%-20%–20%-10%-10% for anchor text variation)
Don't never ever bulk links from sites like Fiverr
Never opt for link networks (Build my rank was one of such private link network, which got penalized)
Don't take BlogRoll links
Most Importantly, the Article directory links are not that effective anymore
