Hey guys,

I need help with google indexing issue. There is 2 problems here.

1) Google ranking the wrong article/url.

For example, my keyword is "best pet dog game". my url is "www.mysite.com/best-pet-dog-game"

So what happen is that google Ranks another article of mine that is related. "www.mysite.com/how-to-find-dog-game" - keyword is "how to find dog game"

2)My article kept going on and off google serp. from number 2 to Cannot be found in serprobot. this happened for almost everyday and has been going on for about a 2 months.

I would really appreciate if anyone can help me out with this. If you have any idea whats going on or the solution to it, I really appreciate your input.

Cheers!

Could it be that serprobot is missing it?
Try manually searching for it on a daily level and use some other tool. Moz offers 30 days free trial, so you can test it there. Put up a project and track keywords.

serprobot is quite accurate though so far. hmmm.

What about Google Search Console?
Do you see big fluctuations in impressions/clicks for that keyword?

This is quite normal. When I first started out with blogging I saw a lot of keywords would rank one day and not rank other days. Eventually when the site aged after a few months it was fixed. Now If I rank, I rank and it does not vanish.

So, I'd say... Give it a few months time!

but website is more than 1 year tho. Other keywords are ranking well.

Use some more internal links with anchor text variation to let google know what you think it should rank for

You should try to double check the content, you might have optimised both pages for same parent keyword - "dog game". I had faced the same issue previously. I had product review page ranking in top 10 for few weeks. Then I added supporting article for this product page, simple how-to one focussing on product maintenance.

After few weeks, main product review dropped out of top 100 and how-to started ranking, on 80-85th position. I had to remove few occurrences of product name from how-to article which kind of worked, and had the review article ranking again.
